TAC NEC - Information and communication system

TAC NEC information and communication system (TARGET ACQUISITION) for automation of combat management process. Information in the system is transmitted from individual unit sensors (sensor operators) to the unit commander. The unit commander evaluates the information and sends the selected data via a radio operator to an assigned communication center. The communication center ensures data transmission to the headquarters or to a combat group, and it also transmits commands from the headquarters to individual units. Within a unit, PR20 short range personal radios are used for communication. The unit radio operator communicates with the communication node via an RF20 system compatible VHF radio. The communication node can be connected with the headquarters via a local computer network.

TAC NEC ensures:
• support of decision making process for the commander and the headquarters, including creation of shared, updated situation surveys in the combat field
• exchange and processing of information in horizontal and vertical planes, including information from sensors in nearly real-time mode
• operation in a unified territorial information system and cartographic environment
• processing of formalized and non-formalized combat documents and messages
• Blue Force Tracking (monitoring of unit movements in the combat field or operation space)
