The crucial element of the PR20 radio system is a short-range transceiver operating in 2.4 GHz band with spread spectrum. The PR20 personal role radio provides voice and data communication. It is primarily designed for operation groups of up to 30 persons requiring mutual communication (each to each) with rebroadcasting option, but it also supports networks with unlimited number of participants. The transceiver is suitable both for communication among buildings and in open terrain, where the range extends up to 1000 m. Interception chances are very low. The radio is very resistant against narrow-band jamming. It is designed for full duplex communication in a group (network) without any further infrastructure and, with rebroadcasting, for communication between networks. The PR20 personal role radio serves as basis for derived vehicle versions PR20V and VICM120. An operation group equipped with PR20 radios can thus use the vehicle radio to communicate with the crew. PR20 and PR20V radios are fully compatible in all operation modes. The VICM120 wireless interface unit is designed to be integrated in PR20 personal radio networks and in VICM100 and VICM200 digital communication systems (manufactured by MESIT přístroje spol. s r. o.).
